“They’ve taken all our fish, Jon!”
I was invited along to a remain / leave debate for Channel 4 at the “Pitcher and Piano” bar on the quayside in Newcastle, and you can watch my brief appearance below.
…And here it is, I hope you enjoy it. Please feel free to use and distribute it on your own channels. You can download your own version here.
Full credit to my son Tomson, who whilst not a political animal, is a computer whizz. In his first year at Newcastle University studying Computer Science, I persuaded him to do the audio and video production for me. I think he’s done a great job.
On Saturday 2nd April I was invited into the Radio Stitch studios to have a chat with the lovely Dan Walton. I was happy to give my opinions on everything from the up coming EU referendum and what I think of Messrs Cameron and Corbyn, to my taste in music and handbags.
You can catch the interview here (divided into 3 parts):
My anthem for the Brexit Campaign, “Britain’s Coming Home” has now had more than half a million hits, even though I uploaded it less than a week ago. It has also been featured on three TV shows – Daily Politics, The Last Leg and Channel 5’s The Saturday Show.
Daily Politics 24th Feb, 2016
The Last Leg 26th Feb, 2016
It’s been another amazing day for “Britain’s Coming Home”. With over 300,000 views on Youtube alone (many sites host their own copy of the video) it seems that the general view is that it’s so bad – it’s good!
The day included a live interview for me on LBC Radio which you can listen to here; but the highlight for me was this wonderful article written by David Baddiel, where he says that the video made him and Frank Skinner “laugh like drains”. Praise indeed.
I was invited onto BBC Radio Tees today to talk about UKIP’s defence policy. This was the first time I have been interviewed on the radio. You can tell I was nervous to start off with, but I relaxed as the interview progressed and hopefully got over the key points of UKIP’s defence policy – that UKIP will commit to spending 2% of GDP on defence, more than what Labour or the Tories are offering, which would amount to an increase of £16 billion over the next parliament. UKIP will also look after our veterans, giving them priority on housing, help with mental health issues and employment. You can read UKIP’s defence policy here.
Here is the inteview:
David Cameron, tell me what’s wrong?
Your MPs don’t really want you
In their eyes
You’re still in love with the EU
Oh that 1.7 billion
There is no way you won’t pay it
I can see that you think that we won’t notice
David Cameron, tell me the truth
Cos you can’t keep on deceiving
They will really keep on leaving
You were always sure of yourself
Now I see you’ve lost your direction
Saying, yes Angela, will lose you the election
Alex Cunningham, you and I know
How elections come and they go but this time you’re leaving
You’ll lose your safe Labour seat
To the UKIP girl
You will have no time for grieving
Alex Cunningham you’re gonna cry
Because Stockton North is turning purple around you
Over thirty years neglect will come to an end
And we’ll celebrate the purple
Thirty years will come to an end
And we’ll celebrate the purple
So the walls came tumbling down
Your campaign’s a blown out candle
All is gone and it seems too hard to handle
Alex Cunningham tell me the truth
There is no way you can deny it
With yet another smear to try to keep me quiet
If you enjoyed the song, or even if you didn’t, I’d love it if you could make a donation to my chosen local charity, Butterwick Hospice. Text UKIP99 plus the amount you want to donate to 70070. Eg, to donate £2, text UKIP99 £2 to 70070.
Here is the maiden speech that I gave to the UKIP Stockton branch meeting at the Station Hotel, Billingham on 14th October. I outlined the key issues for Stockton North and illustrated how UKIP intends to put an end to the thirty years of neglect by the Labour Party.
